Fly All Your Flags

If you want (or already have) more than one business, opportunity or big idea – read this.

I won’t just lecture you about focussing on one thing.

I don’t want to have multiple businesses. I am very well occupied with the one business I have.

And in that one business, I like to keep it simple. I created the All Access Pass so I could focus my marketing efforts on a single goal: Increase the number of All Access Passholders.

But that linear one-idea-at-a-time approach isn’t for everyone.

I often hear from mentoring clients, Passholders, or subscribers who have multiple businesses, or who have a few big ideas for their business, and want to be able to make progress across all of them, rather than tackle them one-by-one.

There is a wealth of coaches and mentors extolling the virtues of going all in on one thing, telling us that success is only possible if we focus, focus, focus.

But what about the people who don’t want to go all in one thing?

What about the multi-passionate entrepreneurs who thrive when sharing themselves across more than one idea.

What if the success they want isn’t a single high-income narrowly focused business?

What if they perform better when being stretched and challenged in multiple ways?

What if they have more than one business, or idea, or niche they’re excited by, that they want to invest time, money and energy in?

As I said – multiple money-making projects isn’t something I want, or have much experience in (besides that one time I nearly co-owned and business directly but it never quite got off the ground).

But I do strongly believe that you get to want what you want – and if I can help you with that I will.

If what you want is to run more than one business at a time, or divide your attention across multiple opportunities, ideas, or project, the best help I can give you is to point you in the direction of my friend Kerstin Cable.

Unbelievably (and disappointingly) I don’t have a photo of Kerstin and me together, even though we’ve met in person twice and spent many hours hanging out together talking about life, cats, business, childhood, clothes, food, and wine (all the important stuff).

In the absence of photographic evidence, you’ll just have to take my word for it, Kerstin is my friend.

One of the things I most admire about Kerstin is her ability to have a LOT on the go.

The last time we were together was June 2024 at Atomicon*, a very lively conference (plus two parties) for small business owners (affiliate link).

My plans for the following few weeks involved hiding in my house, or on the beach, refusing to interact with any humans besides my immediate family, while I attempted to recharge my social battery and recover from the physical and emotional toll this trip had taken on me (I loved it, but it’s a lot for me).

Kerstin’s plans involved a solo 540km cycle ride from Germany to Denmark.

I am pretty pleased with how I wield the English language….but it is the one and only language I am fluent in.

Kerstin is learning her 10th language.

Kerstin is very good at making progress on multiple projects, and dividing her time, energy and attention across them effectively.

Kerstin helps people learn new languages, and works with creative entrepreneurs, while also having a joint-venture with another business owner.

After noticing the lack of support or even encouragement for people who have (or want) more than one big idea, Kerstin created a course – Fly All Your Flags.

Kerstin gifted me access to I could check if it was a good match for my audience, so here’s my take on it, now I’ve completed the course.

Fly All Your Flags Course Review

Who it's for:

Anyone who wants to make progress on multiple big ideas at once.

That could mean different businesses, or different income sources, different niches, different audiences.

It’s for anyone who feels like their attention and expertise are directed at more than one opportunity – and (this is important) – they like it that way.

What it'll help you do:

This will help you make progress on your ideas or opportunities, without following the (tired) advice of ‘focus on one thing at a time’.

How it helps you do that:

Fly All Your Flags focuses on three challenges you’re likely facing right now:

1 – Understanding, and embracing your multi-passionate identity and what that means for your business/es.

2 – How to organize, prioritize, and make progress on multiple projects at once

3 – How you present yourself to the world – multiple brands, multiple explanations…. how do you help people understand who you are and what you do.

Why I love it:

I love seeing how people do things.

I learn so much more from this approach, than from being given a step-by-step processes I’m supposed to follow.

As I watch someone sharing how they do what they do, there’s three things going on for me:

1 – Encouragement – this is possible, and this person is the evidence of that

2 – Copy & Paste Ideas – some things will work if I just copy what they’re doing, and paste it into my life.

3 – Inspire New Ideas – often I don’t want to do things the same way (because I can be a bit contrary), or it won’t quite work with my life or business, but what I’ve seen is still hugely helpful because I can see how I’d adapt it, or it inspires a totally different idea.

And that’s how Fly All Your Flags is helpful.

It’s encouraging to know Kerstin makes this work, and that it is totally acceptable, possible and wonderful to pursue multiple opportunities, ideas or businesses at once, It is not compulsory to focus on one thing.

You’ll come across ideas you can take away and implement.

And you’l have your own ideas firing off while you’re watching the training.
